Nokia's latest research video shows us how high-speed NFC could make physical walls as interactive as their Facebook equivalents, while Barclaycard has tweaked its TV advertising to include Orange.
Video seems the medium of choice in showing us just how great NFC is, in case we've forgotten how much we're all dying to pay for, and interact with, stuff using proximity-radio technologies such as Near Field Communications.
First up is Nokia which seems convinced that it's the slow speed of NFC that's preventing us demanding it in our pockets:
The video shows how beautiful people could connect to their contemporaries thanks to the fast speed of Nokia's next-generation proximity radio "Nokia Explore and Share". Our Dulcinea is seen attaching a next-gen tag to a notice board, from where our questing hero downloads up to 1GB of video data (at 100Mb/sec) and the two subsequently hook up to dance the night away thanks to high-speed proximity data.
If that's not enough to have you demanding NFC in your next handset then Barclaycard has tweaked its rollercoaster advert to specifically mention the NFC capabilities of the Samsung Tocco handset being punted by Orange at the moment:
We tried the service last week, and reported that once one is through the pain of setting it up the service works fine. Since then we've used it to buy more coffee and pastries, but the price of the cookies was eventually deducted from our balance.
