Teenager tries to trade virginity for iPhone
My cherry for your Apple
Replace 'Dairylea' with 'iPhone' and the cheese-spread's slogan would be an accurate insight into the current state of youthful consumerism: kids will literally do anything for Apple kit.
According to Chinese news site Biznewschina, a teenage girl has offered her virginity in exchange for an iPhone 4.
The report, which we picked up from The Korea Herald, has shades of a recent story in which a teenage boy sold his kidney to buy an iPad 2.
The girl in question was apparently so upset that her father refused to buy her an iPhone, she posted a picture of herself on Chinese blog site Weibo, along with some personal information and the lucid offer: buy me an iPhone 4 and you can pop my cherry.
Respondents joked harshly that she isn't worth an iPhone 4, while others reckon she's the victim of a cruel prank.
Either way, her father has probably rushed off to the nearest Carphone Warehouse equivalent to get her an iPhone 4 before she does something rash - or gets one.
If it was all a twisted joke to get her old man to change his mind, then she should have probably waited a few months as the iPhone 5 is reportedly out this September. Would you spread your legs for one, though?
In 2004, a British student tried to sell her virginity on eBay. It took me several years to find someone I could give mine to for free. What is the world coming to? ®
