Paul Ceglia, the man who claims half-ownership of Facebook, has got a new law firm after big name law firm DLA Piper withdrew from the case.
He is now being represented by San Diego attorneys Jeff and Lake. These eminent ambulance-chasers replace the rather better known DLA Piper.
The case has been labelled 'an outrageous, brazen fraud' by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.
PaidContent quoted a DLA Piper spokesman: “We have withdrawn from the case and no longer represent Paul Ceglia. Due to our attorney-client privilege obligations, there will be no further comment.”
Of course there could be many reasons for the split, but losing the backing of a big-name law firm can hardly strengthen Ceglia's case.
Facebook has dismissed Ceglia's claimed email exchange with Zuckerberg as fake.
The New York-based firewood salesman filed his revised case the same day that the Winklevoss twins lost their appeal. ®
