Vid Backers of Kremlin strongman Vladimir Putin have hit upon a perhaps not-so-novel means of bolstering his political support: they have offered young Russian women the chance to win an iPad 2 by "stripping for Putin".

In this YouTube vid, we observe saucy Muscovite minx Diana – who already has an iPhone 4 – striding boldly along in her black suit before scrawling "I will tear my clothes off for Putin" on a vest in lipstick before some very mild hints that she will in fact do so.

At least in the vid – posted by "Putin's Army" – the promised fondleslab of desire does eventuate and Diana gets her reward. It also seems very likely that Vladimir will get his and remain de facto bossman of the Russian Federation, regardless of who actually holds the title of President. At the moment the office is filled by his henchman Dmitry Medvedev, but Putin may return following the March 2012 election – perhaps regardless of how many Russians actually support him. ®
