Facebook flashplodder to appeal against 4-yr cooler stint

Crap rural lootin' event was attended only by police

One of the men sentenced to four years in jail for attempting to incite disorder on Facebook is to appeal against the decision.

Jordan Blackshaw, 20, of Vale Road in Marston near Northwich, was thrown in the slammer, after appearing before a judge at Chester Crown Court yesterday.

Chris Johnson, of Moss Haselhurst solicitors in Winsford, told the BBC that his client, Blackshaw, had created a Facebook "event" entitled "Smash d[o]wn in Northwich Lootin'" as a joke, but added it was "misplaced" and "misguided".

The solicitor said Blackshaw's family had been "shocked by the sentence".

Johnson pointed out that, despite Blackshaw urging Facebookers to riot in his home town, Northwich "remained peaceful".

He wasn't the only man sentenced to four years' in jail yesterday for posting silly comments on Facebook.

Perry Sutcliffe-Keenan, 22, of Richmond Avenue, Warrington, was handed the same harsh sentence after pleading guilty under sections 44 and 46 of the Serious Crime Act.

Similarly, Sutcliffe-Keenan's use of Facebook to incite violent disorder also failed to convince people to go out and riot on the streets of Warrington.

Meanwhile, Cheshire police have plenty of fans and haters on Facebook. A quick search uncovers pages that include "i F*&king hate cheshire police they are by far the worst in the world", which currently has 361 people connected to it.

More cheerily, "The Hunky Cheshire Police Man" page has 69 "likes". ®
