Samsung hawks ultra-fast gaming laptop
Loads of cache
Samsung has unveiled its latest gamer PC, a super-specced notebook which allows users to cache HDD data on a small SSD to improve game speeds.
The Samsung Series 7 Gamer is powered by a Core i7 processor and a DX11-supported 2GB AMD Radeon HD graphics card.
The big point here, though, is the 8GB ExpressCache system - the first OEM system to officially include one - which provides an additional 8GB of Flash memory on the motherboard. This acts as a separate drive, automatically caching data and improving game speeds as well as application launches and boot-up times.
As for storage, the computer packs a couple of 750GB HDDs, so there's no shortage of space.
The notebook shows its graphical prowess through a 17.3in LED display, while pumping out sound through its built-in speakers and subwoofer. There's also support for both 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound.
The Samsung Series 7 Gamer is available any day now with a bundled set of 3D glasses for £1500. ®
