Samsung outs Bada 2.0 smartphone trio

Tidal wave of Waves

Having unveiled new Galaxy M, W and Y Android smartphones last week, the South Korean giant today updated its Wave line with similar suffixes.

The Wave series uses Samsung's own OS, Bada, recently updated to version 2.0. The Wave 3, Wave M and Wave Y all run Bada 2.0. They all have Bluetooth 3.0 and 72Mb/s 802.11n.

Wave 3

The 3 has a 4in, 480 x 800 touchscreen, a 5Mp camera and a 14.4Mb/s HSDPA 3G capability - provided a given network supports it.

The M has a 3.7in, 320 x 480 screen, 5Mp cam, support for near-field communications (NFC) tech and 7.2Mb/s HSDPA 3G link.

Wave M

The Y has 7.2Mb/s support too, but only a 2Mp camera and a 3.2in, 320 x 480 touchscreen.

As per the Galaxies, 'Y' stands for 'Young', to indicate the handset is for youthful social networkers, while 'M' represents 'Magical' - mid-price phones, essentially.
