Get your Fujitsu cloud free

Bite-sized Linux servers for an eight-week trial

Fujitsu is targeting SMEs and ISVs with a two-month trial of its cloud services.

The trial program, open until the end of January, covers all of the company’s cloud offerings – infrastructure-, software- and platform-as-a-service models.

The trial offer is hosted in Fujitsu’s data centre in Homebush, Sydney, with what it describes as “multi-tier” security, and accessed via a Web interface. It’s based on CentOS virtual machines.

For SMEs, the VMs are provisioned with 2 x 1GHz CPU, 3.4 GB of memory, 10 GB of operating system space and 50 GB of storage, and a single Internet connection with one public IP address. ISVs are offered a smaller free config, with one CPU, 1.7 GB of memory and 30 GB of additional disk space.

Windows can be provisioned at extra cost.

The company has claimed strong interest in its cloud offerings, which it announced earlier this year and took fully live in September. It named CA Technologies as an anchor customer of its hosting back in January, and in June, announced that it would add cloud services based on Microsoft’s Azure stack.

Fujitsu has also been investing heavily in infrastructure, with new facilities in Sydney and Melbourne in the pipeline to give it a total of 12 Australian data centres. ®
