Robbers steal £1m worth of Modern Warfare 3 packs

Call of booty

Just one day before it launches, Activision's Modern Warfare 3 has already got people pulling out real weapons and committing crimes.

Two French lawbreakers held a delivery truck up, stealing 6000 copies of the game worth an estimated €400,000 (£342,770), local newsagency Agence France Presse reports.

The van, crewed by two delivery men, was hit by a car on Saturday at 8am in Micromania, France. Upon leaving the vehicle to check for damage, the servicemen were struck with pepper-spray and had their van nicked.

Meanwhile, in Mantes-la-Jolie, a second delivery van was robbed, this time by three hooded people who used a weapon to commandeer the vehicle. The total value of booty was estimated at more than €780,000 (£668,402).

It certainly seems the French are keen on their Call of Duty. If they'd got there earlier, they could have cashed in on eBay - there was a lot of money to be made there. ®
