English reseller scoops ENTIRE NHS Scotland software gig

Ach, th' sassenach hae scooped aw oor (their) bawbees

Trustmarque has scooped a software and services contract with the NHS National Services Scotland in a framework estimated to be worth north of £20m.

Under the terms of the deal, all health trusts in the country can buy software and software asset management services from the York-based reseller.

Mark Garrity, regional sales director at Trustmarque, said the reseller had previously deployed services for individual Scottish NHS boards but this agreement opened the market to all 22.

The firm said it also has a "significant footprint" with NHS England after it bagged a place on the Commoditised IT Hardware and Software framework – due to expire next April, back in 2010.

The hardware component of CITHS should already be catered for by the recently awarded IT Hardware & Services agreement, so another large public sector software agreement may be in the offing. ®
