Three extends data use with Sim-only tariff tweak
Charges off with cheap choices
Three has refreshed its Sim-only pay-monthly contracts, with voice, text and data bundles starting from £6.90 per month and all-you-can-eat plans priced from £12.90.
The Three Sim-only deals - which stretch between a month and a year - hits chips in two flavours: 'Essential' and 'Unlimited'.
The former starts out at £6.90 for a year, which'll snag you 500MB of data, 200 minutes and 5000 texts each month. Or you can pay £15.90 and get 1GB of net use, 600 minutes and 5000 texts each month.
Meanwhile, Unlimited plans start from £12.90, which brings to the plate AYCE data, 200 minutes and 5000 texts. This ranges up to the provider's popular One Plan, which for £25 provides endless data consumption alongside 2000 minutes and 5000 texts.
Three has also abolished out-of-bundle data charges on these Sim-only deals, so it shouldn't matter so much if your stomach is bigger than your eyes when signing up to a lower-end option.
While punters on Three's smartphone contracts already benefit from a lack of excess charges, it's the first time the company has introduced the cap system to its Sim-only plans.
A recent survey from Three showed consumers now gobble an average of 1.1GB every month, a figure the firm claimed is generally in excess of most rival providers' internet offerings. ®
