One of Apple's new strategies for fixing iOS Maps is to get their retail staff to log on and start correcting stuff, according to Apple Store watcher Gary Allen. Allen implies that he got the information from store employees asked by their bosses to fix up maps.
Apple Maps has a function for users to report errors, errors such as the ones that have listed defunct airports as functioning and placed Apple Stores in the wrong location.
As Tim Cook said in his surprising Maps apology, the more people submit corrections, the better the service will be.
Apple has 41,000 retail employees, but it's likely to take a bit more work than that to make all the corrections necessary in the global service. ®
