Former HP direct sales bloke Logan jumps ship to Misco
Felt so empty inside, unable to add value
Headhunters are out in the channel recruiting bods into Misco's fledgling enterprise team - and ex-HP bigwig Richard Logan is the first to join.
The Systemax-owned reseller has grand plans to knock its largest EMEA rivals off their perch within five years, and is restructuring to achieve this.
Logan, previously sales director for HP's PC biz, left the vendor amid the slapping together of the printing and personal systems groups.
He confirmed to The Channel that he will start at Misco next week as enterprise sales director. Cynical readers may recall that Logan managed the direct sales team at HP that often competed with channel partners.
"My view of the world is that there is a real opportunity for the role of value added reselling in the market if you consider the changes confronting CIOs from the cloud to BYOD," he said.
Misco sales director Lee Dutton will continue to oversee the small-medium business and public sector areas, and Logan's focus will be growth in the enterprise customer base.
Systemax is going through some significant changes: it closed its PC production business in the US, shuttered the CompUSA and Circuit City brands, and centralised back office functions across EMEA with the loss of jobs. ®
