Datel: Reseller growing faster than its vendor master Sage

Gobbles record orders, belches, loosens waistcoat

Datel, Sage's largest channel partner in the UK, clearly isn't suffering similar growing pains to its vendor master after posting double digit growth for fiscal 2012.

Sales saw an 18 per cent spike to £16.8m in the twelve months to 31 May and EBITDA rose 47 per cent to £1.67m. Pre-tax profits reached £1.14m from £588,000 a year earlier.

In a director's statement, Datel said turnover was lifted by ERP X3 business and "record levels of orders" from the installed customer base.

"These factors led to significant increases in sales of software licenses, and of consultancy, development and support services," said the firm in a statement.

The company said it exited the year with £1.2m in the bank, nearly three times the cash pile it crouched atop in the same period a year earlier. ®
