Bloke straps shed to Ford Zephyr and chases it on bike

Next challenge: 100mph cycle dash behind Ford Capri

Reg reader Richard Smith has called for one Brit to be awarded a Special Projects Bureau medal after strapping a shed to a Ford Zephyr and and chasing it on a bicycle.

Custom bike frame wrangler Tom Donhou hit 128km/h as he powered his improbably-geared machine behind the classic motor. The project wasn't planned to break the existing motor-paced land-speed record for a bike*, but rather as a challenge in the best tradition of garden shed engineering.

Here's a rather slick video** of the laudable enterprise:

Tom's next aim is to chase 160km/h behind a Ford Capri, which should make for entertaining viewing. We wish Tom the best of British in his pursuit of what was once named by FHM magazine as the ultimate Chav motor. ®

Bootnotes

*Fred Rompelberg, who achieved 268km/h back in 1995 at Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.

**Evidently not shot on Super 8 and edited with scissors on the kitchen table, or indeed in a shed.
