F5 Networks has become the latest vendor to sling bling in the direction of the OpenStack Foundation.
The optimisation vendor's entry as a sponsor-level member puts F5 alongside names like Alcatel-Lucent, Avaya, EMC and Fujitsu. F5 says its input to the foundation will concentrate on developing layer 4 to layer 7 application delivery technology into OpenStack.
Ultimately, it will also help F5's customers, since they'll have kit and solutions that align with OpenStack in public and private cloud environments.
OpenStack now counts 74 member organisations (including eight platinum and 16 gold sponsors) and, counting “supporter” level companies, well beyond 150 vendors have signed on for the cloud vision.
The foundation is now prepping for its Summit in Hong Kong, from November 5 to 8. ®
