Vulture 2 paintjob: Kim Jong-un battles flag-waving Brits
More spaceplane liveries for your viewing pleasure
It's hats off to all those Low Orbit Helium Assisted Navigator (LOHAN) fans who took time to present proposed liveries for our Vulture 2 spaceplane.
Following a first round of submissions, we asked stragglers to get their act together, and behold they did verily deploy the crayons. Here are the last suggestions, and for your viewing please, click on the images for a bigger version.
First up, more Lindsay-based tomfoolery, with pink being the hi-vis colour of choice for our fave female celebutard:
More hi-vis: very striking indeed and one with a smidge of British racing green...
Try three similarly impactful designs, including an Apollo Command Module control panel blueprint, and a suggestion intended to gain much-needed sponsorship from Kim Jong-un (although we've probably blown that):
It was inevitable that Vulture Central's own read/white/black livery would catch readers' eyes, and so it turned out to be...
...with a couple of you opting to ditch the white:
Finally, we present some more Blighty-based themes, for your flag-waving delight:
Well, the decision hasn't got a lot easier following this last bundle of paintjob proposals. There's been strong support for four-year-old Ariadne's lovely scheme...
...although it's not highly practical, in an application sense. One of the LOHAN team said that if we'd had more time before we started putting the Vulture 2 together, we might have considered water transfer printing, although it's anyone's guess how much a custom transfer would cost.
In any case, now we've got some of the avionics installed, dipping the aircraft in a water bath probably isn't a very bright idea.
So, give us your final thoughts on the above, and indeed previous efforts, before we decide what we're going to do. Here at the SPB, we're kind of leaning towards black/white/red, and have taken on board someone's intelligent observation that we probably will need distinct upper/lower schemes to indicate whether the spaceplane is the right way up.
While you lot battle it out, we're off to test out some special primer which arrived at the door earlier this week. We've got a small bit of the Vulture 2 we can use to determine whether or not it's right for the job before attacking the entire surface.
We'll leave you with this magnificent montage of most of the liveries to date, demonstrating just how difficult a decision it's going to be:
