WHEEE... CRUNCH! iPad Mini tops list of most breakable slabs, mobes
Go easy on that delicate little slab of yours, fanboi
Be careful, fanbois: Apple iThings have topped a list of the "world's most breakable gadgets".
In a distinctly unscientific test, a group of testers from the insurance firm SquareTrade Europe dropped "gadgets" (although only pricey tablets and smartphones appear to have made the list) from a great height and dunked them in water.
It is not known how many devices the firm tested.
The iPad Mini was judged the "most breakable" object, followed by the Samsung S4. Other Apple products in the list include the iPad Air at position three, the iPhone 5C at five and the iPhone 5S in at number 8. So four out of 10 then...
In fact, the top 10 was made up solely of Samsung and Apple products - with only Motorola's flagship Moto X popping in to break up the monotony.
"We are all investing in more and more technology, so when we do we want to make sure that we are going to get our money's worth. By putting devices through tests that replicate real life situations, we want to help people make smart choices when it comes to choosing gadgets," Kevin Gillan, managing director of SquareTrade Europe.
Of course, what the firm likely wants is for you to buy its insurance, because Apple doesn't cover water damage.
Cupertino's Stateside Geniuses will, however, fix a broken screen, although Apple is not yet offering this service in British Apple stores.
The top 10 list:
1. iPad Mini - 7.5
2. Samsung Galaxy S4 - 7
3. iPad Air - 6.5
4. Samsung Galaxy S3 - 6.5
5. iPhone 5C - 6
6. Nexus 7.1 - 6
7. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 - 5.5
8. iPhone 5S - 5.5
9. Nexus 7.2 - 5
10. Moto X - 4.5
