Japanese fanboi first in queue for, er, iPhone 6
Yep, the one that doesn't exist yet
A Japanese man who appears to be a rather overzealous Apple fanboi has started queuing for the iPhone 6, even though it hasn't been announced yet.
Tokyo-based blogger Yoppy, who describes his outing in his blog as "iPhone cosplay" – apparently decided that Wednesday was the right time to dress up as an iPhone and wait outside Apple's flagship Japanese store.
Sadly for Yoppy, who has a sideline in bizarre comedy sketches – his Twitter account features pictures of him, amongst other things, tied up in rope bondage aboard a train and wearing an alarmingly tight superhero costume – he was unable to persuade Cupertino to give him a new mobe. He also failed to pry a release date out of tight-lipped Cupertino.
Luckily for us, he shared the whole strange story on Twitter.
Here's a translation of his tweet (with hat-tip to helpful El Reg reader Ken Y-N)
I'm the world's fastest queuer for the iPhone 6, and I've got email in English from Brazilian and UK news sites. Wish me luck as I have to reply...
(Please be aware that Yoppy's Twitter feed is NSFW – backroom gremlins)

The new iPhone will probably come out in just over six months' time and the rumour mill is already swirling. Some observers say it will have a iNormous screen, while others predict a bezel-free phone with a sapphire glass screen.
Regardless of the eventual design, one thing is clear: lots of young people with too much time on their hands will queue up and wait for one.
Naturally, we'll also be there to point and laugh. ®
