Security vet Rafferty rocks up at Clearswift with bold plan

'We're putting clients and partners at centre of our decision making'

Security industry vet Ciaran Rafferty has been tapped up by Brit content and email traffic filtering firm Clearswift to run global sales.

Billed by the firm as an industry rainmaker - someone that can conjure clients and cash - Rafferty has bags of channel experience gained in numerous previous roles.

According to the man he'll looking to breathe new life into the business and doing something that El Chan sees as, er, revolutionary.

"We are looking to re-energise the global channel eco-system, putting clients and partners at the core of our decision making," he said in a canned PR blurb.

This rather begs the question of what Clearswift was doing previously - seems rather fundamental to listen to what punters want and give close channel partners a say on product development.

Popular channel figure Rafferty previously ran local operations for SAP and Sophos, and for the past 18 months was EMEA veep for security-as-a-service firm Proofpoint.

Privately-owned Clearswift underwent a management buy-out in 2011 backed by private equity player Lyceum Capital. ®
