'iPhone 6' survives FRENZIED STABBING. Truly, it is the JESUS Phone

Or, this is just a very naughty boy

Vid A bloke on the internet has attempted to stab to bits what he describes as an Apple "iPhone 6" - but was stopped dead by the gizmo's frontispiece, perhaps fashioned of wondro-material "sapphire glass".

Marques Brownlee, a Youtube tech reviewer who goes under the name MKBHD, managed to get his hands on two dummy models of what he claims is the latest iPhone, which will come in two models: one supersized and another slightly smaller.

"It's 2014. Everything leaks," he said by way of explanation about how he managed to get the phones.

He then decided to take off the screen and attack it with a small hunting knife in a bid to test its durability.

It is thought the new display is made from sapphire glass, which is considerably tougher than the Gorilla Glass used in old-school iPhones.

Sure enough, the frenzied blade man didn't manage to even scratch the screen. He even resorted to trying to key the display.

After applying "deep pressure" of a kind that is "way beyond what would happen in your pocket", he found the sapphire glass could not be harmed in any way whatsoever, even when he tried to snap it in two. Nothing could scratch, dent or break Apple's new super tough sapphire display.

"I was curious how durable it was, so I broke out the knife, broke out the keys and did some scratching," he explained. "Or thought I did some scratching.

"There is no way I could break this screen under my own power. Maybe I could drop a rock on it. But I couldn't get the surface to even scratch a little bit. The worst blemish was dust and fingerprints from handling it.

"It is an extremely high quality material and really durable. It's paper thin - like literally the same thickness as a piece of paper - and totally see-through. I would say zero per cent opacity," he concluded.

The "Marques of Sapphire's" video is not the only footage purporting to feature Apple's newest mobile to have emerged recently. The video below also shows someone trying to snap a pane of "sapphire glass", without even the slightest bit of success.

Mr MKBHD writes that he is "pumped" for the release of the iPhone 6, which we're hoping means he will be more ambitious in his choice of weaponry for the next video.

We bet many long-time Reg readers would love know what happens when sapphire glass comes face to face with a American assault rifle. ®
