Hybrid array startup Tegile plucks CMO from Violin

Leaves flash firm for mutant newbie

Hybrid array startup Tegile has hired a chief marketeer from the ranks of Violin Memory.

Tegile is one of the three leading hybrid array suppliers, alongside Nimble Storage and Tintri.

Narayan Venkat comes from a VP Product management and marketing role at Violin, which welcomed Eric Herzog in March this year. Herzog had moved over from EMC to occupy the chief marketing officer and SVP for business developments slots.

Venkat also worked at VMware, where he was VP of the cloud infrastructure business.

Tegile CEO Rohit Kshetrapal provided a canned quote: “Narayan not only has extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of virtualisation and flash storage technologies but he has a real passion for them as well. I believe that these are attributes shared by all of us here at Tegile and what sets us apart from the competition. We are driven to provide users with a new generation of flash-driven enterprise storage systems that balance performance, capacity, features and price for a variety of business applications. I look forward to Narayan’s help in further delivering that message.”

Rob Commins is currently the VP for marketing at Tegile. He said: “I am elated to have Narayan on board to help build our business. His joining will help me and the company a lot.” ®
