Tim Cook in Applerexia fears: New MacBook THINNER THAN EVER

'Supply chain sources' give up the goss on new iLappy

Apple is preparing to release a MacBook which tabloid newspapers might describe as "worryingly thin", supply chain sources have claimed.

The claims surfaced in the Taiwanese publication DigiTimes, which quoted "supply chain makers" in the country.

The current MacBook Pro is a relatively chubby 2.4cm, but the report suggested this would be retired by the end of the year and replaced with a slimmer model.

It is not known whether this will be fatter or thinner than the MacBook Air, which is currently the fruity size zero at a width of just 1.7cm at its widest point, tapering off to a wee 3mm.

Of course, we don't know whether Apple will actually be further slimming down its laptops, because it will only reveal its plans later on in the year. Expect to hear the full gossip in October.

More Apple rumours are also circulating today that suggest fanbois may only have to wait a few days to hear news about the fabled iWatch.

According to Re/Code, the fruity firm will unveil the iWatch along with (yawn) the iPhone 6 at an event on 9 September.

This stands in sharp contrast with the claims of the tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo – renowned for the accuracy of his Apple predictions – who claimed Apple doesn't have the production skills to release the wearable device this year.
