One more director exits creaking channel titan Insight

EMEA product management veep Griffiths resigns

Yet another Insight veteran is heading out of the door with veep of product management Justin Griffiths set to exit, El Chan can confirm.

It has been a period of rapid change in the upper echelons of the license and box shifter’s exec team following the exit of EMEA president Stuart Fenton and subsequently a wave of generals he had installed in positions of authority.

In a note sent to staff last month, EMEA boss Wolfgang Ebermann, confirmed the “resignation” of Griffths.

“Justin has been with Insight for ten years and held a number of senior positions in the UK organisation and across our EMEA geography,” the ex-Microsoft grand poo-bah stated.

During his tenure, Griffiths started out as purchasing director, had a spell in the UK MD’s chair and most recently oversaw vendor relations and e-commerce for the region.

Ebermann added the outgoing veep was “instrumental” in the recovery in the product business - signs of life re-emerged last quarter in EMEA - as well as “helping develop and shape to renew our EMEA vendor alliances”.

He said Griffiths will stay on board to “support us over the next month’s transitioning” of his responsibilities into the UK organisation, with the function reporting directly to local boss Emma de Sousa.

Ebermann said: “I respect Justin’s decision to pursue his next career opportunity outside of Insight”.

The reseller has been hit hard by Microsoft license fee changes, and is simultaneously juggling the decline of traditional product sales with the need to build a bigger services practice, as customers gradually begin to consume tech is a different way. ®
