iPad AIR 2 and iPad MINI 3, 5K iMac: World feels different today – and it IS
Bust that piggybank while waiting for OS X 10.10 to install

The superscreen desktops will be outfitted with quad-core Intel Core i5 processors running at 3GHz, or i7 processors running up to 4Ghz as well as dual Thunderbolt 2 inputs. The machines come with 8GB of RAM, AMD Radeon R9 M290X graphics chipset with 2GB of VRAM, and 1TB of hybrid flash-disk storage. That hybrid Fusion drive is 1TB of disk and 128GB of solid-state cache.
The models will start at $2499 (£1999), so be prepared to shell out for the shiny thin model.

The company also bumped up the hardware specs on the Mac Mini with faster processors and Thunderbolt 2 ports: the baseline desktop sports a fourth-gen 1.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 CPU with 4GB of RAM and a 500GB disk for $499. A $699 model has a 2.6GHz dual-core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and 1TB of disk storage; for $999 you can one with a 2.8GHz dual-core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 1TB hybrid drive.

The new Macs are on sale now, and will run OS X Yosemite, that's version 10.10, which Apple has today made available to the public as a free download along a new version of iWork. Finally, iOS 8.1 will be available as a download for iThings on Monday to coincide with the Apple Pay release. ®
