Batman in the frame to take on Steve Jobs

Christian Bale said to be likely star of Jobs biopic

Pub trivia fans take note: in the near future you might be asked to explain the link between President Josiah Bartlett, Batman, Steve Jobs, Trainspotting, Facebook and the London Olympics opening ceremony.

Start your answer with actor Christian Bale, who played Batman in The Dark Knight trilogy. According to Variety, Bale's in talks to take the Jobs role a biopic of Apple founder Steve Jobs' life. Danny Boyle, of Trainspotting and London Olympics fame, will direct. The script will come from Aaron Sorkin, scribe of The West Wing (in which Josiah Bartlett was the fictional US President) and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg almost-biopic The Social Network.

Variety says the flick is set to film next year.

Sony Pictures clearly believes the public will still be interested in Steve Jobs when the film debuts, which will likely be at least four years after his death if the northern spring filming schedule is met. ®
