Huawei and Accenture pucker up for enterprise love-in
It's all about the cloud, people –cloud, cloud, cloud
Huawei looks to be side-stepping glacier-paced reseller recruitment by getting chummy with consultancy Accenture to work on carrier biz support services and private cloudy enterprise stuff.
The ink is still drying on the pact but will see the pair “develop joint initiatives” in China, southeast Asia, other emerging markets and some select countries in the developed markets.
The meeting of minds will draw upon Huawei’s servers, networking gear and software with Accenture pitching in with consulting, systems integration and outsourcing.
The aim is to give cloud service providers biz systems and integration services to “support” billing, customer care and “other supporting business functions”.
The desperate duo will also lean on Accenture’s IaaS and Huawei’s private cloud infrastructure to build pre-configured and integrated private clouds to enterprise punters.
“In an era where the physical and digital worlds and increasingly converging, no enterprise is able to address all customer needs alone,” said Eric Xu, rotating CEO at the Shenzhen-based Huawei.
He went on to claim the deal with the integrator will “further augment” its enterprise operations, which to date have struggled to grow as significantly outside of China.
In Europe, Huawei wanted to lure 1,000 channel partners to lead a charge on Cisco and other networking giants, but to date has found a little over one tenth of that number to sign up.
Execs previously told us it was taking time to bed down sales programmes and some rivals were using tactics to warn channel types from forming a relationship.
In a PR blurb, Accenture said the pair will look to help enterprises “cut costs, risks and time of implementation” but didn’t specifically say how it will do this. ®
