Online tat bazaar eBay collapses in UK
Second-hand rubbish sellers RAGE as auction site goes down
Online tat bazaar eBay has collapsed in the UK, with intermittent outages affecting people around the country.
Users told The Reg that the community forums, messaging facility and the "My eBay page" were crippled.
According to Down Detector, the problems started at about 9am this morning.
An eBay spokesman told us: "Some users are experiencing problems and we are currently investigating.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
The eBay representative was unable to tell us what caused the outage or which users were affected.
Some people took to Twitter to grumble after noticing the auction site had been hammered.

This is not the first time eBay has experienced an outage.
Two months ago, eBay agreed to refund sellers' fees after a seven-hour-long blackout.
Reg reader Paul, who passed on the news of the latest outage, said: "I'm glad I don't do business on eBay." ®
