Shipping News: Docker 1.5rc1 arrives in port … NOW!

Get testing devs, you've got less than two weeks before this goes live

Docker 1.5rc1 is upon us and should be ready to slide down the slipway in the first week of February.

Announced in a newsgroup – as is proper – the new version is billed by developer Arnaud Porterie as containing “many major features”.

Among those additions are IPv6 support for the Docker daemon, memory use limits for containers and “support for the new version of the registry HTTP API”.

There's also some new, and finer, controls for determining what resources a container can use.

Porterie's given users until February 5th to test the new release, as he expects that on that date the new version will become official. ®
