It's not you, it's EE ... again! Mobe network hit by 'PDP authentication failure' snafu

Ever get the feeling you've been here before?

Updated UK mobile carrier EE has been struck by yet another "PDP authentication failure" on its network.

Customers have been complaining about the technical cockup on Twitter, where gripes are slowly trickling through to the company.

EE has responded to subscribers with a number of muted tweets confirming that the operator knows about the gaffe.

"We’re aware of a technical fault affecting our data services, and we’re doing our best to fix this quickly. We're sorry for any inconvenience," the company said.

The Register sought comment from EE, but the firm hadn't responded to Vulture Weekend at time of publication. We'll update the story if we do hear more from the carrier.

Last August, plenty of folk moaned about disruption to EE's service, after PDP auth messages began popping up on their mobes when trying to access data services.

At the time, EE eventually coughed to a data centre blunder. ®

Update

An EE spokesman got in touch with El Reg after publication of this story. He told us:

Apologies to the few customers who couldn't access data for two hours from midday today – everything's back up and running now.

It's understood that an unknown number of the mobe operator's subscribers were affected by the data blunder for two hours, from around midday on Sunday.

The screw up was apparently due to a power failure that caused an EE database to restart.
