Symantec announces latest grand fromage prior to split
Gives everyone the Bird as ex-Check Point man climbs on board
Symantec has appointed another senior exec to its team, ahead of a major corporate restructuring which will see the firm split into two by the end of the year.
The company today named Keith Bird, UK boss of Check Point, as its next managing director for Northern Europe.
The division will effectively undo the 2004 acquisition of Veritas and will leave two independent publicly traded organs: Security and Information Management (IM).
Bird has also held senior management roles in four other public companies in the technology sector.
“I am delighted to join Symantec at this exciting moment,” he said.
Kevin Isaac, senior vice president of EMEA at Symantec said: “With Keith’s leadership, we know that our UK and Northern European Region will continue to go on to great things as we protect our customers from an ever-increasing threat landscape.”
In April, the company announced Kevin Isaac as its head of sales for enterprise security in Europe, alongside Matt Ellard as head of sales in Europe for the firm's information management entity, Veritas. ®
