Twitter's Vine creeps into HD-quality vid – but it's not really for YOU, chump

Yet another feature for ad biz

Twitter has updated its snappy video-sharing app Vine with an HD-quality option for Apple iOS users.

The company said in a short blog post that fanbois could now view the vids in HD simply by adjusting a setting via the "Your Content" menu on a user's profile page.

Undoubtedly, the latest tweak to the six-second video service will be welcomed by advertisers.

Better quality vids mean brands will arguably have a more polished look on Vine.

At present, Twitter doesn't load the app with promoted ads. Instead, it makes money from the service by mixing up brands with Vine users who have big followings.

Twitter added that the latest Vine app update will also apparently allow users to more easily find Vine accounts that they might want to follow by offering up "hand-picked suggestions".

In other words, its Vine algorithm just got creepier. ®
