Joining the illuminati? Just how bright can a smart bulb really be?

Smart-tech moves out of the shadows and finds its feet with BeON

Conclusion

This is a smart system. It is well designed and it works as described. Its two most useful functions are as a "welcome home" to light up your house and a security system when you are not home.

If you have a small place and these services are worth $200 to you, then you should definitely look into the BeON system. Just check that you have the right light fittings in the right places. If you have a large home, you will have to do the same calculation but with a $350 cost.

For that money, you may not mind plugging in those round timers and lamps a few times a year. And if you don't have an alarm system you would probably want to invest the money in that first.

But as smart light bulbs go, this is definitely the smartest of the lot.

Three stars out of five.
