LG uses sucky logic to force Dyson admission its vacuums suck badly
'Most powerful cordless vacuums' claim Hoovered up by Australian court
Dyson's found itself in strife again, after Australian courts found its claim to make the “most powerful cordless vacuums” with “twice the suction power of any cordless vacuum” could not be sustained.
LG's Australian tentacle took Dyson to court over the claim, as its own LG CordZero has more power than Dyson's V6.
One small item LG isn't discussing is that the V6 is a handheld cleaner, whereas the CordZero is a roll-along affair in a form factor that affords rather more scope for including larger and more powerful motors.
Dyson's claims, however, make no mention of being the most powerful handheld cordless vacuum, so Australia's Federal Court smiled upon LG's entreaties. Dyson's been ordered to remove all material that makes its claim and try its darndest to make sure retailers do too, both in-store and online.
The case is the Dyson's second legal brawl this week alone: it stands accused by Bosch and Siemens of falsifying data about how much it sucks in Great Britain. ®
