The BBC has reported that the BBC has tweeted that all the BBC's websites were knocked offline this morning due to "technical issues" now confirmed to be down to a "large web attack".

Nevertheless, the BBC did not "confirm or deny" the BBC's inquiries regarding whether a distributed denial-of-service attack was responsible for the BBC's problems, but the BBC coyly noted that information had "emerged" from "sources within the BBC" confirming the sites were offline due to a DDoS.
