Claranet swallows AWS MSP for web apps fun and frolics
Bashton Ltd becomes latest notch on Claranet bedpost
Managed services and hosting player Claranet has hoovered up small but perfectly formed AWS channel partner Bashton Ltd for an undisclosed sum.
This is the third buy Claranet has made including LinuxIT and Techgate since it refinanced in March of last year.
Warrington-based Bashton specialises in selling managed services to retail and media customers that want to run applications on AWS, and it also has some dev-ops tooling nous that let’s punters deploy codes into their web apps, as well as monitor and try to improve performance.
Bashton has annual revenues of £1.2m generated via sales to customers including Liverpool FC, ITV, Odeon, BBC Worldwide and Virgin Holidays. The tech it sold to them was not specified.
Claranet has operations in the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Holland, turning over £165m. It has over 1,000 staff and roughly 5,500 customers.
The MSP has made numerous acquisitions over the years including £55m spent on Star, and this latest deal is unlikely to be its last. ®
