What would you do with 200 extra change windows a year?

Infrastructure matters when you prepare to do DevOps

PROMO All that talk you hear about disruption may be tired, but there's plenty of truth to it: the world has a computer in its pocket and your organisation needs to figure out how to handle customers who interact anywhere, anytime.

DevOps is advanced as one way to respond, as the discipline offers a way to iterate and release updated applications more often.

Which is an entirely admirable aim, but one that needs infrastructure capable of handling many more changes that organisations are set up to allow.

The good news is there are things you can do to and with your infrastructure to gain many more change windows, and therefore to make many more changes to your code. Just changing the way you back up, for example, can create hundreds more change windows each year.

And they're good windows, too: we know nobody wants to get these things done at 2AM.

Join NetApp and The Register on 26th April 2016 at 11am AEST for a webinar in which we'll explain how to set up your data centre so it's ready for you to start seriously tackling DevOps … and then pushing on to do fascinating things in the cloud.
