Clinton's $1m troll fight

The Hillary Clinton Super PAC is planning to spend $1m hitting back at online trolls.

A new task force called Barrier Breakers claims it will "help Clinton supporters push back on online harassment and thank super delegates."

It argues that "Hillary’s supporters are more enthusiastic than Sen. Bernie Sanders’ supporters, yet often times are discouraged from engaging online and are 'often afraid to voice their thoughts' because of the fear of online harassment."

The "task force" – made up of PR people, bloggers and Clintonites – is seemingly the idea of political operative David Brock who has a reputation for being aggressive and infrequently impolite.

Rather than not feed the trolls, the idea appears to be to punch them repeatedly in the face. No one has any doubt that American democracy will improve as a result. ®
