Spotify accounts breached

Spotify account-holders' details have appeared on Pastebin.

User names, passwords and email addresses are among the details divulged.

Spotify says it has not been breached, leaving open the possibility that users had entered their account details into a third party or phishing service.

The company is informing affected account holders.

Users have reported their accounts have been accessed with playlists altered and new items appearing on lists of recently-played tunes.

Spotify accounts are sold regularly online for peanuts to buyers sufficiently thrifty to opt for a hacked account than shell out the $10 monthly fee for the premium service. ®
