HP Ink joins DMTF board

HP Inc. has joined the board of the Distributed Management Task Force, the body that sets manageability standards for PCs and thin clients.

HP says it needs to be on the DMTF to make sure its products appeal to businesses. The Reg imagines it is also keen to be in the room when standards are set, because rivals Dell and Lenovo are already DMTF members. As is HP Enterprise, giving us evidence that the split between HP Ink and HPE extends even to membership of standards bodies. ®
