SCC-owned SCS bags HR and Payoll biz Pyramid

Bank of Rigby reaches into the vaults again

Specialist Computer Services, part of the privately held technology dynasty SCC, has slurped fellow Midlands-based HR and software minnow Pyramid or an undisclosed sum.

Pyramid is a two decade old independent software house staffed with HR and Payroll pros that design, code, markets and support a database product that, we are told, covers all aspects of personnel management.

The buy includes the existing customer base, software IP and the development team - previously SCS sold services based on Unipay software.

SCS parent SCC is itself owned by Rigby Group, chaired by Sir Peter Rigby, whose tentacles reach into various sectors including hotels, airports, ran estate, aviation and of course finance via Rigby Capital.

In the year ended 31 March, SCC turned over £653m, down one per cent on the prior year, and an operating profit of £13.1m, up 31 per cent. ®
