Two of the world's largest brewers are set to merge.
Anheuser-Busch InBev is already the world's largest brewer, producing Stella Artois, Budweiser, Becks, Leffe and Corona, among many others. The company has, of late, stalked rival SAB Miller, producer of Coors, Miller, Fosters, Peroni, Grolsch and plenty more.
SAB Miller had rebuffed takeover attempts, but last week Anheuser-Busch InBev increased its offer. SAB Miller's Board has decided that'll do, in part because Brexit makes the offer more palatable.
Anheuser-Busch InBev will pay about US$105bn to buy its rival. Or about 1.75 EMCs, if you're looking for an IT benchmark on which to measure the transaction. ®
