Labour election 2FA fail

Britain's Labour party has sent its members both parts of a two-factor authentication code in the same plain-text email.

The cock-up, which happened as the party's leadership election opened, was reported on the Guido Fawkes political blog. Screenshots of the snafu can be seen at the link.

The point of 2FA authentication codes is that they should be kept separate so only the authorised person knows both. Putting them together in the same message renders them meaningless. ®
