Pivot3 produces ROBO Edge Office

Hyper-converged infrastructure comes home

Hyper-converged appliance and all-flash system vendor Pivot3 has produced Edge Office, a hyper-converged infrastructure appliance (HCIA) for remote and branch offices and small/medium businesses.

ROBO systems traditionally try to converge compute, storage, and networking into a single system that can be managed either remotely or by the ROBO staff, so the Pivot3 Edge Office HCIA, manageable by an IT generalist, is returning to its ancestral home.

Edge Office is a 1U, rackmount product. It is available in modular hyperconverged nodes, each ranging from 1.6TB to 6.4TB of raw storage capacity. These are used to create clusters that scale past 38TB of raw capacity, which is available to all the VMs and applications on the cluster.

Edge Office vSTAC OS functionality is the same as Pivot3's enterprise nodes. Check out Pivot3's Edge Office online web pages here.

Edge Office nodes start at $20,000 MSRP, and Edge Office Starter Packs at $40,000 MSRP, which includes 3 years of premium support services and software subscription. All software features are included in the subscription. ®
