Soylent fart powder sales halt

Futuristic food firm Soylent is warning customers that the current version of its powdered food is causing gastrointestinal distress for some people. As a result it's halting sales of its powder product.

The problem is apparently the same as that which sparked a recall of Soylent food bars earlier this month, and stems from the current version 1.6 of the formula. The company said that fewer than 0.1 per cent of users get upset tummies, but it is trying to track down what the problem is.

"Fitting with our desire to err on the side of caution, we are reformulating Bar and Powder 1.6 to remove the likely ingredients," it said. "Turnaround should be fairly quick. We expect both will available in early Q1 2017, if not before. We will resume shipping when the reformulation is complete."

Soylent Drink and Coffiest are apparently unaffected, but at this rate the company might want to rename itself Soylent Brown. ®
