Her Majesty the Queen is after a head of digital engagement to run a small team of specialists based at Buckingham Palace.

Interested parties have until Christmas Eve to get their application in, and some of the Vultures may be dusting off their CVs.

Candidates are expected to have experience running and editing: "high profile websites, social media and other digital formats" along with: "A solid understanding of the technical aspects of digital platforms and channels is desirable, as well as an understanding of html and experience of improving the usability of digital products."

The successful candidate will also need experience of using content management systems, social media platforms and analytics tools. Along with "exemplary and compelling writing and editorial skills" and, er, people management skills, you will also need an understanding of the risks as well as the benefits of social media.

In return the chosen applicant will get a salary of between £45,000 and £50,000 for 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday, a 15 per cent employer pension contribution and free lunch – roasted swan we assume.

If you're quick there's also an opening for a senior IT auditor on the same salary with: "suitable professional qualification (CISA, CISSP, CIA or equivalent) and audit experience, knowledge of network infrastructures, operating systems, databases and applications including telecoms and cloud technologies."

But the closing date for applications to that particular position is today. You'll need to be an excellent report writer with previous experience of data analysis.
