The cyber threat isn’t going anywhere, but the fight back starts in London

This year’s event takes place from September 12 to 13, at the Park Plaza in Westminster, London, and is backed by two of the most influential organizations in cybersecurity – SANS Institute and the UK government’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), which is part of GCHQ.

The organisers unabashedly describe Cyberthreat as the most technical cybersecurity event in the UK, but recognise that Cyber Defence is a team sport, that everyone is on a different journey and that every discovery, analytic achievement and breakthrough is backed by a personal story. Everyone has something to contribute and inclusion is central to our collective success.

As well as bringing together practitioners at the top of their game, the organisers also put a premium on developing and growing talent, as the industry continues to grapple with a widening skills gap.

So the emphasis throughout is on real world security challenges and solutions, with in-depth sessions highlighting cutting edge techniques and deep dive case studies drawn from the field.

But as well as flagging up the latest tools and approaches to countering cyberthreats, the conference gives you the chance to put them to the test with a series of in-person capture the flag sessions.

With speakers from SANS’ own lineup of world class instructors plus input from the NCSC’s deep well of expertise, you can guarantee CyberThreat 22’s content will be second to none.

But you can also put yourself in the middle of the conversation, as the call for presentations is open until June 3. The organisers particularly want to hear about your experiences dealing with challenging real-world incidents, threat profiles, and novel techniques for threat detection and forensics, or analysis and threat tracking stories.
