Want to boost your cyber security skills by playing games this Christmas?

Register for this free SANS Holiday Hack Challenge to find out how

Sponsored Post Christmas is a time for gift giving and spending time with your friends and family – but that doesn't have to be all. What if you could add to the fun by taking part in an entertaining free holiday-themed cyber security event that both builds your skills and gives you the chance of adding a stellar prize to the pile of gifts under your tree?

That's what's on offer with the 2022 SANS Holiday Hack Challenge, billed as the most festive virtual cyber security event of the year. Create a customized avatar to help Santa defeat the Elves of Hacking Evil (OK, we made that bit up), or at least a cabal of cyber super villains, and save the holiday season.

In doing so, you'll get to show off your know-how and learn new techniques in multiple cyber protection disciplines, including Web Application Vulnerabilities and Exploitation, SecDevOps and Supply Chain Attacks, Network Security, crypto currencies, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT), Smart Contract Attacks, and Cloud Security.

The Holiday Hack Challenge caters to players of all abilities, with a special focus on people who are new to cyber, with plenty of hints provided by Santa's helpful elves.  The SANS Holiday Hack Challenge provides high-quality, hands-on fun to furnish you with practical experience and improve your job prospects. You can play either solo or as part of a team with colleagues, friends, or other participants from around the world. And, in the spirit of goodwill to all, there's no fee involved.

But don't go looking for a date to put in your diary just yet. Hackers don't advertise when they're going to strike, nor does the SANS Holiday Hack Challenge. It's not exactly threat hunting, but you need to stay tuned and all will soon be revealed – the second week of December 2022. Click here to sign up and SANS will send a notification as soon as registration is open. We can't wait to share it all with you!

The Cyber Grinch may have stolen Christmas, but you get to foil the foul plot, and bring it back.
