When the going gets tough, the tough get rugged

Devices and support to keep employees safely connected in the harshest environments

Sponsored Post Managing any fleet of mobile IT devices is never easy, and the task is made harder when employees regularly carry and use their equipment in outdoor environments impacted by bad weather, harsh environmental conditions and external security hazards.

Panasonic's TOUGHBOOK range was tailor made to survive and flourish in just those sort of places, with ruggedized laptops, 2-in-1 devices, tablets and accessories designed to withstand whatever the construction, automotive, defense, emergency and other field service orientated industries can throw at them.

Of course there are lots of things to contend with when running a fleet of mobile IT devices - connectivity dropouts, integration with in-vehicle systems, compatibility with legacy solutions, battery life and the downtime that inevitably comes with battery replacement to name just a few. That's why Panasonic backs up its TOUGHBOOK components with a Mobile-IT-As-A-Service proposition which offers maintenance and hardware/software support services, as well as expert advice to help with planning and consultation ahead of field deployment.

You can read more about the challenges which many industries encounter when accessing mission critical applications, data and services in harsh environments by clicking this link. Meanwhile a practical guide to solving any mobility frustrations your organization might have in keeping people and devices reliably and securely connected is available here.

The device hardware was built with resistance to dust, water, vibrations and extreme weather at its core. It typically features reinforced frames, hardened casings and sealed I/O ports which combine to offer up to IP66 dust and water protection, 18cm drop resistance and the ability to operate in temperatures ranging from -29 °C to +63 °C. It's also been tested by an independent third party to confirm its compliance with MIL-STD  810G/H - the US Department of Defense Test Method Standard defined specifically for the US military, but equally as useful in commercial products too.
