NTT Global Data Centers supercharges global datacenter growth with $10B investment and AI-first innovation
Datacenter company is on a mission to meet growing AI workload demand
Partner content NTT DATA, a global leader in digital business and IT services, has announced a milestone year of accelerated growth and innovation within its Global Data Centers (GDC) division. Backed by more than $10 billion in capital development through 2027, the company is scaling to meet surging demand for AI-optimized, sustainable infrastructure across North America, Europe, and Asia.
In 2024, enterprises across industries faced growing pressure to process vast amounts of data and deploy AI at scale. NTT GDC responded with record-breaking expansion, delivering 370+ megawatts of new capacity, opening 10 new datacenters, and enabling more than 200MW of AI workloads, thus affirming its leadership as the world's third-largest data enter provider.
"At NTT Global Data Centers, we're laser-focused on building for the future while delivering the scalable, secure and sustainable infrastructure enterprises need today," said Doug Adams, CEO and president of Global Data Centers at NTT DATA. "This isn't just about datacenters; it's about enabling our customers to lead with confidence in an increasingly competitive and connected world."
GDC's rapid expansion included $2.9 billion in strategic investments across land acquisitions and development. Key highlights included a landmark 68.5-acre campus in Johor Bahru, Malaysia—set to become one of APAC's largest data center sites with 290MW capacity—and new sites in Berlin, Frankfurt, Chicago, and Hillsboro, Oregon, collectively enabling over 800MW of future capacity.
With AI reshaping infrastructure needs, NTT Global Data Centers continues to lead in innovation, deploying advanced liquid cooling systems and designing facilities specifically for high-density AI workloads. This AI-proven approach positions GDC as a go-to partner for enterprises seeking performance and efficiency at scale.
Sustainability remains at the core of GDC's mission. In FY2023, the company achieved a 26 percent reduction in emissions and increased its use of renewable energy to 51 percent, as it continues toward its goal of net-zero emissions by 2030.
"These milestones underscore NTT Global Data Centers' unwavering commitment to innovation as we redefine possibilities for the digital future," Adams added. "As we look ahead to 2025, we remain focused on empowering the world's most innovative companies with the infrastructure that fuels their transformation."
